Cake:

  • Sift the flour, baking powder, and the salt.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the butter and sugar until it is light and creamy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, blending until well blended.
  • Add the vanilla.
  • Next add the flour mixture, and mix just to combine, scrape the sides and then stir for 30 more seconds.
  • Place the cake batter into the prepared pan.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 22 – 26 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and then cool completely.

  • In a medium mixing bowl, mix together milk, sweetened condensed milk, and the evaporated milk.
  • With a large fork, (one like you use to serve meat), poke a lot of holes into the cake.
  • Pour the milk mixture over the cake and place in the refrigerator for at least 4 – 6 hours.

  • In a medium bowl, place the cream.
  • With a hand mixer, whip the cream until it is thick.
  • Next, add the sugar and vanilla extract, stir to combine.

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 (12 ounce) can evaporated milk

Topping:

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/4 - 1/3 cup powdered or granulated sugar
