  • Sugar

  • Baking powder
  • Baking soda

  • Confectioners’ sugar

How Do I Make White Texas Sheet Cake?

Here’s the simple steps you’ll follow to make this Cake (scroll down for the full recipe):

 

Cake:

 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • Prepare a baking sheet or a baking jelly roll pan, by spraying it with non-stick cooking spray.
  • In a mixing bowl, place the flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and baking soda; then set it aside.
  • In a small saucepan, combine butter and water, just until it boils. Then add the flour mixture.
  • In another small bowl, whisk the eggs, sour cream and almond extract until combined, and then add this mixture to the flour mixture whisking continually.
  • When they are both combined, place the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 18 – 24 minutes.

 

Frosting:

  • Combine butter and milk in a large saucepan; bring this mixture just to a boil.
  • Remove from heat, then gradually stir in confectioners’ sugar and the almond extract.
  • Stir in the walnuts or pecans if desired, and spread over the cake that has cooled for about 15 minutes.
  • You could also roast the walnuts or pecans for an even better taste.

  • 2 large eggs, @ room temperature
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (or Greek yogurt)
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract

  • 1/4 cup milk or cream (if frosting is too thick, add a little more milk)
  • 4 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 1/2 - 3/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped nuts (optional, or you can also use berries of your choice).
