Topping:

  • In a medium mixing bowl, mix together flour, oats, brown sugar, baking powder, and cinnamon.
  • Then add the butter and mix with a fork or your hands; mix until the mixture is crumbly.

 

Filling:

  • In a small bowl, mix together melted butter and the flour.
  • Then add the water, lemon juice and vanilla extract.
  • Next add the brown sugar and the cinnamon.

  • 2 1/4 Tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 3 Tablespoons water
  • 1 Tablespoon lemon or lime juice

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 8 cups (or about 2 pounds) apples, peeled, cored and sliced thin
