- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Line a muffin tin with liners.
- Place the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, and salt into a mixing bowl.
- In a separate bowl, mash the bananas, then add to the dry ingredients.
- Next add the eggs and mix the ingredients.
- Put the maple syrup, almond milk, and vanilla extract in and combine.
- Add the coconut oil and mix one more time.
- Stir in the chocolate chips and then place the dough into the muffin cups, about 3/4 full.
- Place in the oven and bake for 16-20 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and allow them to cool.
Tips and Tricks For Healthier Chocolate Muffins:
- Try gluten free flour.
- Omit the chocolate chips.
- Add some walnuts or chopped pecans, or even some almonds.
- You could use honey in place of the maple syrup.
Also here is a little secret; our very favorite muffin recipe in our family is pumpkin chocolate chip muffins. However they are not as healthy as Healthier chocolate muffins.
