How Do I Make Cinnamon Swirl Bread?

  • In a mixer with a dough hook, mix flour, honey or sugar and salt.
  • In a 2 cup container place water that is 120-130 degrees and then add yeast and sugar. Let it rise, for about 4-5 minutes.
  • Heat milk and butter until butter is melted, then stir into dry ingredients.
  • Add eggs and enough remaining flour to make soft dough.
  • Then add the yeast mixture, and the rest of the flour. Don’t add too much flour; dough should be a little tacky.
  • Mix at least 5-7 minutes.
  • Place dough on a counter that has been greased; let rest for 10 minutes.
  • Divide dough into two equal pieces.
  • Roll each piece into approximately a 16″ x 7″ rectangle.

 

Cinnamon Swirl:

  • Brush rectangles with melted butter up to 1/2″ of the sides.
  • Combine sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle evenly over dough.
  • Starting at the short end of each rectangle, roll up tightly and pinch seams and ends to seal. Place, seam side down, in 2 greased 9″ X 5″ loaf pans.
  • Cover with plastic wrap sprayed with cooking spray and let rise in warm, dry place until doubled in size, (about 45 minutes to 1 hour).
  • Bake at 375 degrees for 40-45 minutes or until done.

  • 3 Tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
