Tater Tot Mixture:

  • Frozen tater tots
  • Cooked chicken
  • Ranch dressing
  • BBQ sauce
  • Shredded cheddar cheese
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Crumbled fetta cheese

  • Sour cream
  • Avocado
  • Green onions
  • Salsa

How Do I Make Loaded Tater Tots?

Here’s the simple steps you’ll follow to make this main dish (scroll down for the full recipe):

 

Tater Tot Mixture:

  • Preheat the oven to 450 degrees.
  • Place the tater tots on a baking sheet, and then place them in the preheated oven.
  • After 15 minutes turn the tater tots over, then place them back in the oven and cook them for an additional 15 minutes.
  • In a bowl, add the shredded chicken, ranch dressing, and the BBQ sauce.
  • Mix the two shredded cheeses together, in a separate bowl.
  • When the tater tots are finished, remove them from
  • Spoon half of the chicken mixture over the tater tots.
  • Then add 1/2 of the cheeses that have been mixed together.
  • Repeat the layers in the skillet and then bake for an additional 5-8 minutes.
  • Drizzle additional dressing on top along with some crumbled fetta.

Loaded tater tots can either be a main dish or a great afternoon snack. I like to use a rotisserie chicken to make them fast.

Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 35 minutes
Total Time 45 minutes

Ingredients

Tater Tot Mixture:

  • 1 (32 ounce) bag frozen tater tots
  • 1 1/2 - 2 cups cooked chicken (I like rotisserie)
  • 1/3 cup ranch dressing (more for garnishing if desired)
  • 1/4 cup of your favorite BBQ sauce
  • 3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 Tablespoons crumbled fetta cheese

Garnishments:

  • Tomatoes
  • Sour cream
  • Avocado
  • Green onions
  • Salsa
  • Olives

Instructions

    Tater Tot Mixture:

    6. When the tater tots are finished, remove them from the oven and place half of them in a cast iron skillet, (if you do not have one, you could use a different baking pan), spoon 1/2 of the chicken mixture over the tater tots.
    7. Then add 1/2 of the cheeses that have been mixed together.
    8. Repeat the layers in the skillet and then bake for an additional 5-8 minutes so that the cheese melts.
    9. Drizzle additional dressing on top along with some crumbled fetta.
