White Chip Orange Dream Cookies are a reminder of a creamsicle bar.  They have a smooth texture and a creamy orange taste.  This is a nice change for a cookie. I remember the first time that I tasted one of these amazing cookies, I told my neighbor, I must have this recipe.

She consented and I truly was so grateful for her sharing. I love a good soft cookie and a friend to share them with. In my opinion, some of the best things in life are the ones that do not cost a lot, and they come from the heart!

I have a friend that I do her hair every week. Sometimes when she comes, to be honest it is a little draining. I think when people get older, sometimes all they have to do is to sit around and watch the news.

And I think that you would agree with me, the news is not very positive. So when she talks about the world, she says that it just isn’t like it use to be and all the people these days are going to the dogs. I think to myself, the world has a lot of amazing people in it and then I keep trying to look for all the good things that have happened that day.

I think it is wonderful that there are so many wonderful things that we can educate ourselves with, like on-line classes to take. There are so many ways that we can keep growing and improving, each and every day. Just like making white chip orange dream cookies for the first time.

I got this recipe several years ago from a neighbor who became a good friend. We were both young mothers and we had little daughters that were about the same age who also became good friends.

My husband and I also had two younger sons. Her husband became good friends with my husband. She became a second mother to the three children that we had at that time. My children loved her and they loved to go across the street to her house.

They knew where the cookie jar was and she always had cookies for them in the cookie jar. One afternoon we couldn’t find my three year old and when we went outside to see if he had gone outside we saw him inside her home standing in front of the picture window eating cookies and smiling.

She was out working in the yard and the garage was open so he just went in through the garage and on into the kitchen. He climbed up on the cupboard and helped himself to a few cookies in her cookie jar.

It was a sad day when my husband got transferred and we moved from there, but those are the kind of memories that we treasure. They are what make life what it is! I hope that each of you have had a good friend that has brought that kind of joy to your life and left memories for you to treasure, and maybe even a cookie recipe like these White Chip Orange Dream Cookies.

Tips and tricks For White Chip Orange Dream Cookies:

  • They have grated orange that is dehydrated that you can buy in the store, but I think it is a lot better when it is fresh, in fact I bought some once and I ended up throwing it out because I did not care for the taste of it, but if you like it, you can use it.
  • When the cookies start to turn golden around the edges, they are usually done. Do not over bake them or they will be crunchy.
  • These cookies freeze really well.
