Grand granola is so grand because you can mix up a batch so quickly. It tastes so much better than what you buy in the store. It tastes nice and fresh and is perfect on yogurt or just as a snack. We like to eat it with a little milk in the mornings for breakfast.

If you like raisins, you could put them in place of the craisins. It is also yummy to put some fresh fruit, like blueberries or strawberries, in the bottom of a clear cup, then put some yogurt in and then top that off with some granola. You will love it.

Have you watched any great movies lately? I like to watch a good Hallmark movie or a movie that makes me feel good after I have watched it. We have been watching a series, and I usually just do not watch TV.

I grew up on the farm and we didn’t have a lot of spare time and so I kind of always have some work to do, my husband tells me if there isn’t any work to do, that I make some. And you know what, he is right. I am always cooking or cleaning or some sort of sewing projects.

And another thing that I have is a journal, so one can spend a lot of time writing in a journal. I also like to watch how to take better pictures on you tube, or as my grandson calls it ooh tube. My favorite is when he says hey Siri, E -I -E -I -O. As you can tell, he loves “Old MacDonald”.

The other day I was letting him look at my tablet and in 5 minutes he had changed it and he’d been watching over 15 different kid shows. Now I ask you, when you were a kid, did you have to get up and change the channel or what?

I know that I sure did. We didn’t even have a remote control, let alone a tablet or a big screen and we surely didn’t have more than one TV. Now most people have a TV in every room in the house, or at least a computer.

We still just have one TV and I keep trying to not have more than one TV because I like when my family talks to one another, but we are still on our electronic devices a lot. More than I would like us to be.

Tips and Tricks for Grand Granola:

  • If you would rather, you may use pure maple syrup in place of the honey.
  • Make sure that you use a good quality Oats, I like Quaker or Bobs Red Mill.
  • Add the craisins last, that way they do not tend to go sticky and soft.

My son goes to work pretty early in the mornings, and so he usually likes to eat just a quick bowl of cereal. I feel pretty good about this one because it isn’t completely full of sugar and preservatives. We all really enjoy Grand Granola.

Make some today and put it in a bowl with an airtight lid or a bucket with a lid. That way it will stay nice and fresh. Your kids will love it and if they aren’t a big fan of coconut, just leave it out. Just make sure that you put in the honey, peanut butter, flavoring and oats.

The rest is strictly your choice. It is nice that you can make it according to your family’s taste buds. Next time I make it, I will use dried apples and some cinnamon.
