Creamy French Silk Brownies

Creamy French Silk Brownies

Creamy French Silk Brownies are a rich and creamy brownie. Brownies on the bottom with a French silk center, topped with cream and chocolate.

Prep Time 20 minutes
Cook Time 25 minutes
Total Time 45 minutes

Ingredients

Brownies:

  • 1 Box Brownie Mix (16.3 ounces & not prepared)
  • 1 egg
  • 5 Tablespoons butter (melted)
  • 1/4 cup Whole milk

French Silk Layer:

  • 1 package (8 ounce) cream cheese (@ room temperature)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 4 ounces semi sweet chocolate (can use chocolate chips)
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 carton (8 ounce) Whipped Topping

Top Layer:

  • 1 carton (8 ounce) whipped topping or 1 carton (8 ounce) real cream (whipped and sweetened)
  • Garnish with mini chocolate chips or grated chocolate pieces

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9" X 13" baking dish with non stick cooking spray.

Brownies:

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the brownie mix, egg, melted butter, and milk; whisk until smooth.
  2. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the center of the brownies come out clean when checked with a wooden pick or cake tester.
  3. Then remove the brownies from the oven and cool them.

French Silk Layer:

  1. In a large mixing bowl combine the cream cheese and vanilla extract, using an electric mixer, making it nice and creamy. Add the powdered sugar and mix again until nice and smooth.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, place the chocolate and butter; turn the microwave on for 30 second intervals until the mixture has melted and you can combine the chocolate and butter. To make sure that I do not over cook my chocolate, I like to melt them on power level 5. Make sure you stir the mixture very well each time.
  3. Make sure the chocolate mixture isn't too hot, then add it to the cream cheese mixture. Combine the two mixtures, then add the whipped topping.
  4. Spread this mixture over your brownies that have cooled.

Top Layer:

  1. Next add an additional tub of whipped topping or real whipping cream that has been sweetened. (I use 8 ounces of whipping cream and when it is thickened, not too much though, add a teaspoon of vanilla extract and 1/4 cup sugar or powdered sugar to prepare real cream).
  2. Garnish as desired.
