Double Chocolate Chip Cookies are a real treat. We love that they are soft and chewy and loaded with chocolate. Almost like a brownie, yet a cookie.

These Cookies are packed with flavor. And with the holidays coming up, you can double the batch and put them in the freezer; then when you are in need of a snack or treat, you can pull these out of the freezer and you are good to go.

Double Chocolate Chip Cookies

Double Chocolate Chip Cookies are easy to make. They are so soft and chewy, kind of like a brownie, and packed with chocolate.

Prep Time 20 minutes
Cook Time 12 minutes
Total Time 32 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter slightly melted
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chunks or larger chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Then place a baking mat or parchment paper on 2 baking sheets.
  2. In a medium bowl, place the flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Then using a mixing bowl, place the butter and sugars. Mix on medium until incorporated together.
  4. Next add the egg and vanilla, mix until well combined. Scrape the sides of the bowl to make sure the butter is nicely mixed in.
  5. Slowly add the flour mixture, mixing only until the flour is mixed in. Over mixing the dough makes the cookies too dry.
  6. Mix in the chocolate chips.
  7. Using the size of cookie scoop that you prefer, place 8 dough balls onto the baking sheet leaving space in-between the dough balls. (I used the larger cookie scoop).
  8. Bake the cookies for 10 - 12 minutes or until the center of the cookies are done, depending on your oven.
  9. Then remove them from the oven and place them onto a cooling rack.
  10. You can store the cookies in an air tight container for up to 3 - 4 days or place the cookies in the freezer in an air tight container for up to 3 months.
