Kettle Lasagna is a different, fun way to make lasagna. You will enjoy the simplicity of preparing the dish, and the taste of the dish even more. I was really excited to see that my cute daughter-in-law said that this was one of their favorites at their home.
We love the bow tie noodles, however, you could use any noodles that you want. I also love that you make it in one pot. You do not need to transfer it to another pan, making it a lot easier for clean up.
The first time I made kettle lasagna, I was so excited with how yummy it tasted. Also if you have time, I feel it tastes a little better when it has a few minutes to sit and simmer. That allows blending of all the wonderful spices.
So my friends, what in the world are we suppose to do about winter time and the cooler weather? It is making me want to stay in bed and be lazy. The holidays are coming and I want to do some sewing. I guess that I had better start taking some vitamin-D and see if that will help.

Do you know what I think would be really nice as a gift, for any time or any holiday like: Mothers Day, birthdays, or even Christmas? I would love to have a secretary or a personal assistant for 1 week!
Some of the things that I would have them do would be; paint the computer room, organize my storage room, clean the garage, (that way I wouldn’t get in trouble for getting rid of some of my husbands junk, oh, I mean treasures) 😉 Then I would also have them trim all the bushes around our yard and wash the windows.
Doesn’t that just sound wonderful, oh ya and I would love for them to paint my kitchen cupboards. Mission accomplished. Don’t you think that sounds like the best gift ever. Some day, I will have to give that gift to someone. That would be awesome!!!
We love pasta at my house, and Lasagna is one of our favorite pasta dishes. There are so many different recipes for lasagna and we love almost all of them. I do remember that when I was in school, that I did not care for the lasagna at school lunch. I don’t know what it was about it, but it just was not good.
Tips and Tricks For Kettle Lasagna:
- Cook your hamburger in a very large skillet, that way you can put the spaghetti sauce and the noodles right in the same pan.
- I place my cottage cheese and cheese right in the same pan, placing the lid on top and allowing the cheese to melt into the lasagna.
- If you do not care for cottage cheese, you could omit it, however it does make it nice and moist.
- I do not put my pan in the oven, I let it simmer on the stove top, but you can do it either way.
I was surprised when I found out how good lasagna really is. We mostly had meat and potatoes at home when I was growing up on the farm, so most of my pasta recipes that I have, have been collected since I moved away from the farm.
I must put in a good word for school lunches when I was growing up because most of the food was really good. We did not have a choice like they do today, but that was OK because what they served was usually really good.
My favorite meal was when they served chili and cinnamon rolls. The school lunches were good and hearty, which was good because we had supper in the evening; not dinner.
We also worked pretty hard with all of the chores that we had on the farm so we needed a good hearty lunch so when we got home from school we could get out and do our chores. Enjoy your Kettle Lasagna.
