So many memories flood my mind as I remember back the many years that we have had this amazing french silk hot chocolate! The Christmas mornings and the wonderful smells. The anticipation of the children opening their gifts and the wondering if they would like what you bought them as much as you loved buying it?

I remember for the longest time we would get up and give the kids their favorite cereal and then I realized that they were growing out of cereal and they were hungry within 2 hours. I do not know about you, but I only cook one meal on Christmas Day.

That is right, cereal just wasn’t cutting it . That is when I started cooking overnight breakfast casserole!  Then I also decided that it was time to make this wonderful French Silk Hot Chocolate. It is great, because I make it the night before and then in the morning, I just get up and warm up the milk. Then I let my kids add as much chocolate as they like to their milk.

Tips and Tricks For French Silk Hot Chocolate:

  • Use solid chocolate, not cocoa powder.
  •  We use whole milk.
  • Heat up the milk, but make sure you do not scorch it!
  • Add some little marshmallows if you like!

Making this breakfast makes it so simple and then they aren’t eating a bunch of candy and junk food. They usually eat the orange out of their stocking too. That is another tradition that we have and I know that a lot of other people do too.

One tradition that my brother’s wife had was that in the night, Santa would put candy canes on the tree. I think that this is a cute tradition too.

I would love for you to share some of your fun traditions that you and your cute family does for Christmas. So go ahead and post them in the comments below. This way, we can help each other with new fun ideas and bringing families closer together.
